about
This song is inspired by the game "Catherine." It tells the story of Vincent Brooks, a man torn between two loves - a long-term relationship in which he's feeling trapped, as well as a new flame that threatens the security and foundation of his current life with promises of excitement.
The game leads you to believe that you have to pick between either one as the story unfolds, but in reality, there is a third option in which he chooses neither and finds "true freedom" - a route that is solely his own.
"Catherine" (our song), is about being in the crossroads of the three options.
lyrics
I see the people around m
People looking for a word
A little sense of security
In a world that's so unsure
I try to tell myself that everything will fall in place
But I'm a victim of the habits that I just can't break
I don't want to need somebody
I'm just tired of feeling alone
I'm placing the blame all on me
For all these thoughts I can't let go
I don't want it
I don't need it
I don't want to need somebody
I'm just tired of feeling alone
I see it around me
And it's almost like a taunt
Freedom or security
I just don't know what I want
In and out, in and out again
Fall in love, for the hell of it
